MME visit Megalithic Site Gunung Padang Java Indonesia H264

The Maritime Mysteries Explorers made a trip to the megalithic site of Gunung Padang in Indonesia recently. There have been a number of stories about the age of this site and the possibility of this being a man-made constructed step pyramid. This was also an opportunity for them to reconnect with their Indonesian colleagues. They were joined on the trip by Dicky Zainal Arifin and Ahmad Samantho, both of whom are consultants to the Presidential Task Force, who are investigating this site and other phenomena related to the ancient Sunda civilization. The entourage included students from Ahmad Samantho's Bat al-Hikmah Institute and members of his Atlantis-Indonesia Organization.

This is not Buddhism as I know it, but Sinhalese chauvinism and communalism that is promoted by the nationalistic Rajapakse regime.  First the Tamils were marginalised after the civil war and now they are going after the rest of the minorities in this questionable democracy.

This is a very disturbing trend in Sri Lanka and from a government that claims it is working toward reconciliation.  How can the Australian FM Bob Carr go on record saying there is no evidence of human right violations by the Sri Lankan government after their actions have been condemned by the UN Human rights council.  Under what rock has he been hiding.  Clearly he is getting his news from the Daily News, Sri Lanka's English language government run newspaper and the only one not suffering these abuses.  How can the Australian government in all good conscience turn the leadership of the Commonwealth over to this government.  This will only serve to tarnish the reputation of the Commonwealth from which it will never recover.  They should support Canada's boycott of CHOGM and insist on moving or postponing the meeting until these concerns are address by the Sri Lankan government.

For similar behaviour and policies, members have been suspended from the commonwealth, but instead Sri Lanka is rewarded with hosting CHOGM.  Australia already has a questionable human rights record with its refugee policies, so attending the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Sri Lanka will further degrade their reputation in the international community.  We should follow the example set by Canada and refuse to attend CHOGM in Sri Lanka.

Commonwealth members should follow the example of Canada and refused to attend CHOGM if it is hosted by the Sri Lankan government.  Sri Lanka is in clear violation of many of the principles held by members of the Commonwealth and by participating in the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Sri Lanka, Commonwealth members are condoning Sri Lanka's abuses in human rights on its ethnic minorities.
